Our headquarters are in Boston, MA and our R&D and production is in Israel.

Objective

Microbot Medical is seeking an IP Specialist with experience in patent portfolio. The successful candidate will be required to provide a full range of patent support functions, including providing significant support of the patent process, invention mining, invention disclosure preparation, technical writing, patent searching, clearance support for product development teams, assisting in the management of the IP portfolio, and competitive intelligence. The candidate will report to Senior Director IP.

Main Responsibilities

• • Managing the Company’s patent portfolio, including preparing/reviewing provisional, PCT, and national patent applications and reviewing and analyzing office actions
  • Managing the company’s trademark portfolio
  • Patent harvesting – working closely with the CTO and the R&D engineers to identify new inventions
  • Conducting prior art searches and assessing the patentability of new inventions
  • Analyzing competitors’ patents and providing Freedom-to-Operate opinions
  • Managing external patent attorneys

Qualifications & Requirements:

• • B.Sc. in Mechanical/Electrical/Biomedical Engineering from a known university
  • 3+ years of experience as a patent attorney or IP associate (in-house position – an advantage)
  • Experience in the medical device industry – an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills (able to distinguish between the essential and the incidental, able to see both the big picture and the fine details)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and must be a team player
  • Open-minded strategic thinker
  • Native English language is preferred, proficiency is acceptable
